CEQA Compliance

The CPUC is the lead agency under the California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA) and is responsible for conducting the environmental review of the proposed project.  The CPUC has determined that an Environmental Impact Report (EIR) will need to be prepared to assess the potential impacts of  the proposed project.

Environmental Documents

The CPUC issued a Notice of Preparation for an Environmental Impact Report on December 17, 1999, requesting comments on the proposed project and potential alternatives by January 20, 2000.  An Initial Study checklist was attached.
