W-3982) CPUC APPROVES SOCAL WATER, OJAI DISTRICT REVENUE INCREASE The California Public Utilities Commission (CPUC) approved today a $191,000 or 13 percent revenue increase for Southern California Water Company, Ojai district (SoCal Water), effective in five days. SoCal Water serves 2,700 customers in the Ojai community in Ventura County. This is the first rate increase since 1993. It covers increased costs of $48,053 in water expenses, $52,677 for power, and an undercollection of $87,152 for water and power previously purchased. The residential customer who uses the systemwide average of 2,200 cubic feet of water a month will see an increase of $5.73 or 15 percent, from the current $38.21 to $43.94. The residential usage rates will increase 14 cents per hundred cubic feet of water, from the current $1.19 for the first 100 cubic feet of water used to $1.33, the next 1,500 cubic feet will be $1.43 per 100 cubic feet, and usage exceeding 2,000 cubic feet will be billed at $1.73 per hundred cubic feet. The $87,152 undercollection will be collected through a surcharge billed for 36 months amounting to 12.1 cent per hundred cubic feet of water used. -###-
