   CPUC SPONSORS ROUNDTABLE ON LICENSING AND ENFORCEMENT OF
               PASSENGER SHUTTLES IN SAN YSIDRO

    The California Public Utilities Commission (CPUC) will hold
a roundtable discussion in San Ysidro regarding coordinating
its licensing and safety enforcement of passenger shuttle
companies with the requirements of local and international
border authorities.  The meeting will be:
         Tuesday, January 28 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.
         San Ysidro, Casa Familiar Recreation Center
         212 Eask Park Avenue

    Discussions, hosted by CPUC Commissioners Jessie J. Knight,
Jr., Henry M. Duque, and Josiah L. Neeper, will include
reducing traffic congestion, and setting performance and
operation standards for carriers.  State and community leaders,
and transit experts have been invited to participate.  After
the discussions the public will have an opportunity to comment
or ask questions.  The agenda follows:

10:25 a.m.     - Description of Intermodal Transportation
                 Center

10:40 a.m.     - Discussion on managing competition to reduce
                 traffic congestion

12:10 a.m.     - Break
