MAY 21 CPUC MEETING WILL BE IN SACRAMENTO

The May 21 California Public Utilities Commission (CPUC) decision-making meeting will be held in Sacramento. The meeting will begin at 10 a.m. Wednesday in the Auditorium of the Secretary of State Building, 1500 11th Street, at the corner of 11th and O streets.

Commission President P. Gregory Conlon and Commissioners Jessie J. Knight, Henry M. Duque, Josiah L. Neeper, and Richard A. Bilas usually meet at the Commission headquarters in San Francisco twice a month to decide rate, competition, and service and safety issues involving investor-owned telecommunications, energy and water utilities, and transportation companies.

By holding this decision-making meeting in Sacramento, the Commission wants to enable the public in Sacramento and surrounding communities, and legislators, to see Commissioners' deliberations firsthand. The first 20 minutes of each decision-making meeting are reserved for public comment on agenda items for that meeting. Each person is given a few minutes to speak depending upon the number of individuals who sign up to speak. The agenda for each meeting is posted a week before the meeting on the CPUC Internet website at http://www.cpuc.ca.gov.

The Commission encourages the public to attend its meetings. The meeting site is accessible to everyone. If special accommodations for the disabled are needed, contact the CPUC Public Advisor at 415-703-2074, or TDD# 415-703-2032 five days in advance.

Directions from the Bay Area: take Interstate 80 to Sacramento and transition to I-5 Northbound once in the City. Take the Q Street exit, and turn left on 11th. Parking is available on the right side of 11th Street, between O and P Streets.
