         CPUC POSTPONES ELECTRIC RESTRUCTURING DECISION

    The California Public Utilities Commission (CPUC) announced
today that it will postpone issuance of a proposed policy
statement on restructuring California's electric services
industry.  The order was scheduled for release on March 22.
    Noting the widespread ramifications of its actions in this
area, the Commission has determined that additional time is
necessary for analysis of, and reflection on, the extensive
record developed in the case.
