CONTACT: Kyle DeVine October 24, 1995 CPUC - 551 213-897-4225 CPUC COMMISSIONER TO HOLD SOUTHERN CALIFORNIA OFFICE HOURS To increase Southern California access to the California Public Utilities Commission (CPUC), newly-appointed Commissioner Josiah Neeper will hold office hours once a month in San Diego or Los Angeles from 9 a.m. to noon as follows: November 13 - San Diego December 11 - Los Angeles January 16 - San Diego February 13 - Los Angeles In San Diego, the CPUC office is at the State Building, 1350 Front Street, Room 4006. Arrangements to meet with Commissioner Neeper in San Diego, may be made by calling the CPUC Outreach * Officer at 619-525-4309. The Los Angeles office is at the State Building, 107 South Broadway, Room 5109. For meetings in Los Angeles, contact the CPUC Public Advisor at 213-897-3544. The CPUC regulates rates and services of telecommunications, gas, electric and water utilities including Pacific Bell, Southern California Gas, Southern California Edison, San Diego Gas and Electric, and Southern California Water. It also regulates services and safety of household goods movers, airport shuttles, limousines and tour buses. It oversees safety of electric transmission lines, gas and oil pipelines, and railroads. Josiah Neeper was appointed to the Commission by Governor Pete Wilson on September 20. He has been a distinguished attorney and active leader in San Diego for many years. He chaired the City of Los Angeles Employee Relations Board and was an adjunct professor of law at the University of San Diego. -###-
