As previously stated, I've been keeping my proposed implementation
guideline for EDI transaction set 814 up to date with our discussions
of the California Direct Access Service Request (DASR) and account
maintenance business models, and have been drafting a proposed
guideline for transaction set 650 for California meter-specific
information flows. Because the use of 650 vs. 814 is still under
discussion, the meter-specific information is in both guidelines, but
if the information is placed in REF segments, it can be easily moved
between the two implementations. I have merged my tables concerning
when the various data elements are used into the 814 guide, as
appendices. The 814 guide also shows my proposal for communicating
the purpose of a given transaction through BGN01 and ASI02 (and
sometimes LIN03) codes, at the beginning of the BGN segment.
These draft guidelines are attached, and will hopefully be useful
during our meetings next week. Just for clarity, these are
my proposals and are meant for discussion by the group.
