NOTICE OF DIRECT ACCESS IMPLEMENTATION PLAN MEETING

In D.97-05-040, issued on May 6, 1997, the California Public Utilities   
Commission ("CPUC") required Pacific Gas & Electric Company, San Diego   
Gas & Electric Company and Southern California Edison ("the UDCs") to   
meet with interested parties "to address the development of the direct   
access implementation plans" described in D.97-05-040.  The UDCs hereby   
serve notice that the formal substantive meeting ("the Meeting")   
concerning development of the UDCs' direct access implementation plans   
will be held on June 9, 1997, from 9:00 a.m. to 4:45 p.m.  The Meeting   
will be held at the Westin St. Francis Hotel, Union Square, San   
Francisco.
This Notice is being served on the service list for the above-captioned   
matter and is being posted on the web-site established for Direct Access   
Implementation Workshops at: http://162.15.5.2/wk-group/dai.  On June 4,   
1997, an expanded, detailed outline of the UDCs' proposed Direct Access   
Implementation Plan and an agenda for the June 9 meeting will be posted   
on the web-site.  The Meeting will focus on explication by   
representatives of the UDCs of the details of the Plan, with responses   
from and dialogue with the stakeholders in attendance.  Review of the   
Plan prior to the Meeting is essential to an effective and efficient   
Meeting.
