A year ago SCE provided the MADAWG team with its holiday rules and they
are defined as follows in our tariffs:
Holiday Type Rule
---------------- -------
------------------------------------------------
New Year's Day Fixed January 1 except if Sunday on following
Monday
Presidents Day Sliding 3rd Monday of February
Memorial Day Sliding Last Monday of May
Independence Day Fixed July 4 except if Sunday on following
Monday
Labor Day Sliding 1st Monday of September
Veterans Day Fixed November 11 except if Sunday on
following Monday
Thanksgiving Day Sliding 4th Thursday of November
Christmas Day Fixed December 25 except if Sunday on
following Monday
In summary ....
We do not treat Martin Luther King Day or the day following Thanksgiving
Day as holidays. We apply Presidents Day as the 3rd Monday of February.
No changes made for holidays falling on a Saturday. It is only
holidays falling on a Sunday which are applied to the following Monday.
Since these holiday rules are defined in our tariffs which are regulated
by the CPUC, SCE can not change these rules.
