Southern California Edison 867 Implementation

> On September 18,1999, pursuant to California Public Commission (CPUC)
> Decision 98-12-080, Southern California Edison, acting in its capacity as
> a Meter Data Management Agent (MDMA), will begin to provide bill-ready
> usage information in EDI format, using Transaction Set 867. SCE will
> concurrently provide the same data in CMEP format until February 1, 2000
>
> There will be no system functionality changes to the MDMA Server. Data can
> be retrieved in the same manner as it is today. Data found in the EDI
> files will mirror data in the corresponding CMEP files. Files will be
> archived eight calendar days after posting.
>
> The separate CMEP and EDI files can be identified in the filename. CMEP
> formatted files will be named "FILENAME.CMEP", as they are today. EDI
> formatted files will be "FILENAME.EDI". If you currently retrieve your
> files manually, by logging onto the MDMA server using a browser, you can
> choose to retrieve either the CMEP file or the EDI file, or both. If you
> are currently using the "Getfilenames" CGI script, you can continue to do
> so. However, the scripts will continue to retrieve only the CMEP formatted
> filenames. You can retrieve EDI filenames with this script by changing
> "Getfilenames" to "GetEDIfilenames".
