Status Report on EDI for Meter Usage Data

Attached are the meeting notes (cdtmtus.doc) and attendance
(cdtusatt.doc) for the 8/3 meeting of the Meter Usage Data task group
for migration to EDI, and the meeting notes (billmtr.doc) and attendance
(mdatatt.doc) for the group's 8/19 meeting. The group has been working
during August to document the business rules for data exchanges
regarding meter usage and historical usage. Also attached is a strawman
proposal (usaghist.doc) by the group regarding the 12-month usage
history sent by an MDMA, as requested at the 8/6 CDT meeting. Also, two
works-in-progress are attached: MDMA business model (ca867mdl.doc) and
data dictionary (cmep2edi.doc).

Redlining in the MDMA business model work-in-progress indicates some of
the issues that the group will discuss further at its next meeting, on
Thursday 9/3, at PG&E; a similar clarification to this description
relates to the process for transmission of usage data to scheduling
coordinators (section H(7)(c) of Rule 22 as adopted by D.97-10-087). As
described in the 8/19 meeting notes, upcoming issues for discussion
include where the utilities need specific information (e.g., totalized
metering and kVAR metering) to be passed to ESPs (DASR, meter-specific
services, etc.), how the timing of data corrections relates to financial
settlements, and testing (MDMA acceptance) procedures.
